Kingman, AZ to Seligman, AZ May 7

Not an eventful day for me.... kind of boring. We drove along a desert road (i.e. Route 66), we stopped along the way. We went to the Hackberry General Store to see Max, the dog.... but he was taking a nap. We checked into the Canyon Lodge and I hung out at the hotel for the rest of the night.

Needles,CA to Kingman, AZ May 6

This morning, we did a Skype video conference with a bunch of 2nd graders in Stroud. They also sent us letters before we left. That was cool!

We then drove into the mountains to a little ghost town called Oatman, Arizona. It was hot, dry and dusty. There were donkeys everywhere. Three of them tried to get their heads all the way into the car! I really did not like Oatman. It was crowded, the place smelled like donkey poo and some of the people were mean.

After we left Oatman (finally), we drove to the top of the pass. When we finally got to the top, there was breathtaking view! I really liked the view.

We drove down the mountain along a hilly road (in which we liked to call "rollies") to the hotel.

Ludlow, CA to Needles, CA May 5, 2010

Today we drove through the desert for a very long time. After Aunt Kathy mailed a post card, we headed out to meet my dad and Uncle Jeff for their first water break. We stopped at an old, run down motel called Roy's but it looked like they were fixing it up. We took some pictures, bought more Route Beer and headed out. Route 66 parallels the train tracks most of the way so we got to see lots and lots of trains that were very long!

We stopped in the town of Essex to set up our lunch spot. It was pretty much deserted but we had chairs and parked near a big tree. I stayed in the car and played my iTouch and had tuna for lunch.

After lunch, we continued to drive to Needles. Once we got to the hotel, we waited for my dad and Uncle Jeff and then we all went to the pool. It was 103 degrees outside and the pool was great. We had dinner and watched Modern Family, one of my favorite shows. We then went to bed. Tomorrow, the ghost town of Oatman, Arizona.

Barsow, CA to Ludlow, CA May 4, 2010

When I woke I the next mornng blah blah took 10 minitues blah blah ok yeah. We were driving down Route 66 and we came across an old beat up cafe' called the Bagdad Cafe'. At first I didn't want to go in; but at that moment my mom comes into the car saying: "They have chocolate and vanilla shakes!". At that moment I BOLTED for the door. I ignored the smokey smell and ordered my shake. After lunch, I took a few pictures, then we drove to this remote motel. In fact was so remote, that, we had to check in at the gas station! When we checked in, we did nothing for the whole day. We were in my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Jeff's room, visiting when my OTHER uncle came! Then we all went to bed. When I woke up the next morning...

Rialto, CA to Barstow, CA May 3, 2010

We woke up in the Wigwam Motel at around 8:45 A.M and it took 15 minutes to get ready....I was TIRED because I stayed up late reading. When we finally started driving we drove to the Summit Inn and somebody from the Route 66 Pulse magazine came to interview my dad and Uncle Jeff about their huge bicycle adventure. I had a vanilla shake. Then we drove to Barstow. When we got there we stayed at the Barstow Holiday Inn Express. We unloaded the trailer and we went swimming. Then we went to a mexican restaurant. When we got home we played a game of monopoly with Aunt Kathy [Hunter won]. Finally we went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning...

Santa Monica to Rialto, CA. May 2, 2010

After I woke up in the Holiday Inn in Santa Monica; we got in the car and started driving toward the Wigwam Hotel in Rialto (ree-al-tow). On the way out of the city, we visited China Town. It was very fun; it had a bunch of...well... Chineese stuff. There were restaurants, homes, and even a town square with some dragons and other interesting things. When we got ot of China Town (finally) we got onto the historic Route 66. We drove down a tree lined road with some middle classed; one floored homes. The, we finally caught up to my dad and Uncle Jeff. We had a snack and I took some video and pictures. Then we rode further and took a detour to THREE Verizon stores in search of a broadband card which allows internet access anywhere, as logn as you have cell-phone coverage; I'm using it right now to write this. On the way out of the Verizon store, I had to use the bathroom. Thus, we walked into a store named L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Turns out, they had vanilla mochas! It was the best one I've ever had! Now I'm in search of the best vanilla shake of all time, so far, L&L has the best one. Then, we drove to the Wigwam Hotel. We went swimming, skyped with my best friend and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning.....

Moorpark to Santa Monica May 1, 2010

Today, my best freind was having a sleep-over before I left, sorta like a goodbye party....
After he left we all got ready, I played a little Runescape.....got frustrated and went down to the garage where we we're all getting ready. I took out my awesome 1080 high definition video camera, and took some video and pictures. When we were all ready, we started down the road....then...three meters later... SCREEEEEEEEEEECH. Huh? What was that!? When we all went out to see what happened; it turns out that my dad had forgotten to put up the kickstand for the trailer! (What an idiot....) Five minutes later....BANG BANG BANG BANG! Well after about TWENTY mintues of hammer pounding on the broken kickstand. we finally got it off and kept driving. .......ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz.........

Okay now we're there, I was sleeping the whole way. When we got there, we walked to the golden colored Holiday Inn in Santa Monica. Turns out, we couldn't park our car with the trailer at the hotel! (Ooooof course.......) So we had to wait to get permission from the manager of Sears to let us park in their parking lot for the night. After that, we went down to a restaurant called The Yard for a going-away party. There was loud, annoying, music. But the food was good. We stayed for about two and a half hours, then went home and visited in our hotel room for a while. Then went to sleep, and woke up the next morning.............
